5 Important Lessons From Corona Virus
Corona Virus is spreading like fire in the jungle but this time, the jungle is the whole world. With current active cases above 1.2 Million in more than 210 countries, nations and islands, Covid-19 is becoming a nightmare for governments across the globe. On the other hand, there are many important lessons from Corona Virus that need to be considered.
Lets establish one fact straight away. Fear is not the answer to this pandemic. Fear always magnifies the problem lying in front us. Courage, precaution and hope is something that is going to help us get out of it collectively.
There have also been some serious concerns about corona virus from the religious point of view.
Is Corona Virus a curse and torment from God?
I happened to listen to a beautiful perspective of Mufti Menk on this. He said that if this pandemic is bringing you closer to God, it’s a blessing from God. Whereas, if it is taking you away from God, it’s a torment without any doubt.
And isn’t that true in every case? Anything can have a threat and opportunity at the same time. It totally depends the way you look at it and the way you handle it.
While we prepare ourselves to handle this pandemic, there are some very important lessons from Corona Virus that we might learn the hard way if we are not observant.
Progress Today has compiled 5 important lessons from Corona Virus
Our beliefs about USA have changed
While USA is still better than many countries in many other contexts, “Corona Virus outbreak handling expectations” from USA were much higher than what we are seeing today. Maybe they get out of it in the end. However, there are many other countries doing a better job than USA right now.
At times, things look quite fascinating from the outside but in reality, every glitter is not gold is one of the first important lessons from corona virus.
We can survive without junk food
We all have been hearing from health professionals for a very long time to avoid using junk food. But we all know how good we are at avoiding things we love even if they have negative impacts on our lives.
But corona virus has made us learn it the hard way. We are sitting at homes, cooking food and are still surviving. Just btw, if you are still ordering junk food from the outside, your immune to even learning lessons the hard way!
Moreover, when we are out of this pandemic, we can still survive without junk food.
Some jobs are taken for granted but reality is very different
Take maids for the sake of an example. While they need to stay home and stay safe too, we have to do all the chores by ourselves. Hence, we realize that every job matters and has its own value.
It can be your babysitter, your car service guy, your plumber… it can be anybody you can think of and used to take for granted. In these days, you realize that if they were not at your service all this time, you would be doomed.
Hence, when we get out of this pandemic, we are bound to respect every profession whatsoever.
Work from home is as important as working from the office
Who introduced work from home in your office?
The above question as you can see has added another option in the answer section. Majority of the offices have realized that work from home actually saves a lot of cost and on the other hand, keeps their team members happy.
They don’t need to travel to come to the office and go back home, hence this time can be realized to do something productive instead.
Also, you don’t need to invest in company resources to facilitate your team members. They are working from home and using their own resources to get the job done. It can be internet, electricity, office space and much more.
Earth also breathes and it has every right to
While there have been many terrifying images all over the internet, people are also amused by the way nature has shown its beautiful colors. With less number of people going out of their homes, the earth seems to be breathing.
There are lesser number of cars on the road. Hence lesser pollution and more clarity. It seems like the earth has washed its face.
With all of these hard lessons learnt, we must realize that as humans, we have a short term memory loss problem. When all of this is over, we need to make sure that we come out of this pandemic not just more stronger, but also more responsible, sensible and liable for a better future ahead.
